Sembcorp Industries has unveiled its 2023-2028 strategic plan, emphasizing its commitment to transitioning from brown to green energy. The company aims to accelerate renewables growth, targeting 25GW of installed renewables capacity by 2028. Additionally, Sembcorp plans to achieve a 50% reduction in emissions intensity by 2028, building on its successful 2025 target accomplishment. The company will continue leveraging gas as a transition fuel to fund renewables growth and actively manage its gas portfolio. Sembcorp’s capital allocation reflects a significant focus on renewables investments, with approximately S$10.5 billion dedicated to supporting green initiatives. Wong Kim Yin, Group President & CEO, envisions Sembcorp as a leading renewable energy player in Asia, driving sustainable development over the next five years.
