Lloyds Bank and Yoti Launch ‘Smart ID’ App to Combat Identity Fraud and Enhance Digital Verification

Fraud, Bribery & CorruptionLloyds Bank and Yoti Launch 'Smart ID' App to Combat Identity Fraud and Enhance Digital Verification

Lloyds Bank has partnered with digital identity company Yoti to launch a reusable consumer digital identity app called “Lloyds Bank Smart ID.” This app enables UK consumers to securely share their personal information with businesses when required.

Yoti, a digital identity firm, developed this solution using its ISO 27001, 27701, and SOC2 Type II-compliant technology. The primary goal is to combat the increasing threat of identity fraud, which is considered a significant risk to the UK public.

Lloyds Bank’s investment of £10 million in Yoti played a pivotal role in connecting UK consumers with secure digital identity verification methods. This initiative follows Lloyds’ recent collaboration with Visa to introduce Visa Commercial Pay, a virtual card solution designed for businesses of all sizes. The platform aims to streamline payment processes, enhance expense management, simplify invoice reconciliation, and provide transparent reporting mechanisms.
