Minnesota’s inaugural cannabis regulator, Erin DuPree, resigned from her role as the head of the Office of Cannabis Management due to allegations of selling illicit products through her company, Loonacy Cannabis Co. Appointed by Governor Tim Walz just a day prior, DuPree’s resignation came amid accusations of selling illegal items in Minnesota.

The Loonacy Cannabis Co. website, which has since deleted certain product listings, revealed instances of DuPree promoting products that violated state laws. Governor Walz initially lauded her appointment, citing her extensive experience in Minnesota’s hemp and cannabis industry and her successful track record in business management.
