London-Based AI Security Startup Mindgard Raises £3 Million in Seed Funding for Revolutionary Platform

AI/MLLondon-Based AI Security Startup Mindgard Raises £3 Million in Seed Funding for Revolutionary Platform

London-based cybersecurity startup Mindgard, specializing in AI security tools, has garnered attention in the financial sector with a recent successful seed funding round.

The company has secured £3 million in seed financing from investors IQ Capital and Lakestar. Mindgard, born out of Lancaster University, has developed an innovative platform enabling businesses to thoroughly assess the security of their AI models. Notably, the platform can integrate with “almost any” existing cybersecurity system.

Mindgard is poised to capitalize on the growing popularity of large language models (LLMs), which power advanced chatbots like ChatGPT and Bard.

Founded in 2022 by Garraghan, Steve Street, and Dr. Neeraj Suri, Mindgard’s foundation is rooted in academic research from Lancaster University. The company’s credibility is further bolstered by its memberships in Nvidia’s Inception Programme and the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub.

In the broader investment landscape, IQ Capital, based in London and Cambridge, made headlines in June with its £320 million fundraise, focusing on the deep tech sector. Lakestar, a Swiss venture capital firm, led an £11 million seed round in June for London-based warehouse robot startup BotsAndUs.
