U.S. Department of State Special Advisor on International Disability Rights (SAIDR) Sara Minkara is traveling to Chile from May 6 to 14 and Peru from May 14 to 16 to promote further integration and inclusion of persons with disabilities in international economic policy.  In Chile on May 6, SAIDR Minkara will participate in a Disability and Inclusion panel at the National Congress of Chile. On May 7, she will deliver remarks for the closing ceremony of the Zero Project Latin America Conference, one of the first regional conferences to promote inclusive education. She will also meet with host government officials and civil society to learn how the United States can work with Chile to advance disability inclusion. SAIDR Minkara will travel to Peru on May 14 to meet with government and civil society in Lima.  On May 15, SAIDR Minkara will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Public-Private Dialogue on Women and the Economy in Arequipa, Peru, to discuss the importance of women’s financial inclusion as a pillar of economic development.
