ESGUAE Launches ALTÉRRA: $30 Billion Commitment to Drive $250 Billion Climate Investments Globally by 2030

The UAE government announced the launch of ALTÉRRA, a new investment platform designed to drive private capital toward climate investments and improve access to climate finance in emerging markets, particularly in the Global South. ALTÉRRA aims to mobilize $250 billion globally by 2030, with a $30 billion commitment from the UAE. BlackRock, Brookfield, and TPG are among the launch partners, with ALTÉRRA investing $6.5 billion in climate-focused funds managed by these firms. The platform includes two components: ALTÉRRA ACCELERATION, a $25 billion anchor investor, and ALTÉRRA TRANSFORMATION, a $5 billion risk capital provider to incentivize capital flows into the Global South.
