Former PML-N Official Imran Wakil Accuses Gilgit Baltistan Government of Multi-Billion Corruption Scandal

Fraud, Bribery & CorruptionFormer PML-N Official Imran Wakil Accuses Gilgit Baltistan Government of Multi-Billion Corruption Scandal

Imran Wakil, former provincial Forest Minister and senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has accused the Gilgit Baltistan government in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) of engaging in widespread corruption. He alleges evidence of multi-billion corruption and claims that Chief Minister Gulbar Khan is diverting funds from the Association for the Development of Pakistan (ADP) and Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) to reward his close relatives, violating PEPRA rules.

Wakil asserts that Khan, during his tenure as the provincial Health Minister, facilitated a corruption scheme involving over USD 1 billion in vaccine procurement. As Chief Minister, Khan is accused of embezzling funds through a ghost scheme. Wakil alleges irregularities in the tendering process for MRI machines in Chilas and Skardu hospitals, with the same company being pre-tendered for an inflated value of PKR 127 crores. He calls for immediate action by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Appellate Court to address this mega corruption, vowing to prove the allegations or accept guilt before the people.
