Two Finnish companies are under suspicion for allegedly exporting drones and military products, valued at over three million euros ($3.25 million), to Russia in violation of EU sanctions, according to Finnish customs authorities. Six individuals are implicated, with one already detained since September. The exported items, including drones, microcontrollers, semiconductor devices, and defense materials, were initially approved for export to countries like Kazakhstan but are believed to have ended up in Russia. The investigation suggests that one individual is responsible for both companies involved, with one overseeing the purchase of sanctioned products and the other forwarding the goods to Russia. The case, involving regulation violations and a defense material export violation, will be handed over to a prosecutor in December. The EU has imposed multiple rounds of sanctions against Russia, targeting various sectors, following the invasion of Ukraine.
