Huawei is reportedly creating undisclosed semiconductor plants across China to evade U.S. sanctions, warns a Washington-based semiconductor association cited by Bloomberg News. The tech giant, backed by an estimated $30 billion in government funding, entered chip production recently. It’s said to have acquired two plants and is constructing three more. The association suggests these moves could help Huawei bypass U.S. export controls and indirectly acquire American chip-making equipment. While Huawei denies security risks, being on the U.S. trade blacklist restricts its access to technology. Both Huawei and the association are yet to respond to requests for comments.
