Two Individuals Interviewed in Ongoing Fraud Investigation at Bristol Waste

Fraud, Bribery & CorruptionTwo Individuals Interviewed in Ongoing Fraud Investigation at Bristol Waste

Two men have been interviewed by police as part of a fraud investigation related to Bristol Waste, a council-owned waste company. The investigation focuses on alleged fraudulent activities at the company’s depot on Kings Weston Lane, where it is suspected that money changed hands to misreport the amount of waste being brought to the site. The individuals voluntarily attended police interviews as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Bristol Waste implemented stricter controls and security measures in response to the allegations, which were first reported in 2020. The company is owned by the Bristol City Council. Deputy Mayor Craig Cheney expressed disappointment at the “potential fraudulent activity” earlier this year.
